Fall River Youth Workforce Partners
Multiple Education Pathways Blueprint (MEPB)

Grant Summary:

The Bristol Workforce Investment Board (WIB) was recently awarded $491,666 from the United States Department of Labor to implement a "Multiple Education Pathways Blueprint" (MEPB) grant in the City of Fall River. Bristol's grant was one of seven awarded nationwide. This two year planning grant will provide an opportunity to build a systemic strategy to address the needs of the area's struggling students and dropouts, articulated in a "Blueprint" developed by all engaged partners in the community. The Fall River MEPB stakeholders group will be known as "Fall River Youth Workforce Partners," committed to working together to find solutions developed with "shared vision, common agenda, accountability, and mutually beneficial outcomes." The stakeholders creating the Blueprint consist of a Leadership Team and Planning Partners, representing many organizations and interests in the community, all concerned with the region's dropout challenge. The work of the MEPB team will be measured by the following outcomes: development of a comprehensive blueprint that includes and integrates workforce development and economic development strategies into the school's district strategic plan; a baseline measurement of public and private funding currently supporting in-school and out-of school youth in the city; implementation of new low or no cost programming through effective leveraging of resources; and, development of improved intake, case management, referral and follow-up strategies for at-risk youth.

Goals of the Leadership Team:

The Leadership Team will serve the MEPB process as an executive board for the duration of the grant, driving the Blueprint strategy; ensuring the goals and objectives specified in the grant are implemented; providing fiscal oversight, performance review, direction, and technical assistance to the full Partnership. The Leadership Team will drive political will to support the full implementation of the blueprint in Fall River, and develop strategies to sustain ongoing growth of multiple education pathway options for the city's growth.
