A Note From the Nurse

All 7th graders are required to have a Tetanus booster/Tdap and a physical before entering 7th grade. Those students who have not been in compliance should have received letters by mail. Tetanus shots will be offered at Talbot Nurses Office on Wednesday, October 22, 9-10 a.m. If you wish to receive the vaccine at school, a parent must complete the forms and return them to the school nurse along with a $5 fee for the vaccine before Oct. 22nd. Any 7th grader who chooses not to participate in the clinic or does not provide physician documentation of having a Tdap vaccine will be excluded from school as of October 27, 2008.

6th graders will need the vaccine by June in order to enter 7th grade, so 6th grade students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity also. Forms were mailed to all 6th graders who have not provided documentation of the vaccine. If you are interested, complete the forms and submit them to the nurse's office with the $5 fee by October 22nd.

All Talbot Staff members are able to participate as well. The fee is $5 for city residents and $15 for non-residents.

Flu Shots There will be a flu clinic in the nurse's office at Talbot on Monday, November 24, 8-10 a.m. Flu shots will be given by a Health Department nurse. The clinic is open to all students and staff of Talbot Middle School. The shot will be FREE for students and city residents and $15 for non-residents. Students must have a permission form filled out by a parent and must provide $5 in order to receive the vaccine. Parents are not required to be present when the vaccine is administered.
